What We Believe
The church of Christ has become the leading example in the effort to reestablish the church that Christ came to build (Matthew 16:18).
It wears a name that is scripturally based (Romans 16:16); it is organized only with the offices of Elders and Deacons as God prescribed (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9), with Christ alone as the true head (Colossians 1:18). It has no other Creed, Catechism, or Manifesto other than the Bible.
Because of this approach, the church of Christ can be considered the oldest established Christian Faith, for it traces its roots back to the first century, its foundation being the original apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).
We do not presume to have a greater wisdom than God and submit ourselves totally to His authority. We know that in this way there can be unity among Christians (1 Corinthians 1:10).
Basic Doctrines for Conversion and Worship
Foundations of Christian Living
A series of 37 lessons broken down into four sections. The first deals with the greatest commandments with a lesson on love. The second covers what is expected of a Christian in daily personal worship. The third has to do with the worship of Christians in assembly. The fourth delves into many doctrines considered controversial teachings but are also solid foundational requirements. These classes can be used either make sure the entire congregation understands the same concepts of doctrine or for new members and new converts to bring them up to speed with the progress of the church.
This is a quick reference covering most of the requirements found in the New Testament Scriptures for becoming a child of God and entering into salvation and the process for changing one’s nature to that of the image of Christ.
This is a series of 13 lessons covering the basics of becoming a Christian that is used as a correspondence course. It goes into more detail than the Conversion Check List, but is not as extensive as the Foundations Course.
Pamphlets and Brochures (Mostly for Evangelism)
The following are Pamphlets (many-paged booklets) and Brochures (trifolds) for what is termed an Evangelism Project. For cost effectiveness, try using Staples brand color laser paper (gloss finish, heavyweight) for the covers of the pamphlets and for the trifolds. If you are doing small runs, then perhaps HP Tri-fold Brochure Paper 180 g for the brochures. Of course these are samples and should be edited for your own church with a change in church logo, map and address.
